By on September 20, 2014

Advertisement for the competitive examination by different RRB to fill up Senior Section Engineer and Junior Engineer in different Railways is out on date 20th Sept. 2014. The examination will be held on 14th Dec. 2014 for Junior Engineer and 21st Dec. 2014 for Senior Section Engineer. Degree in Engineering is the minimum education qualification for SSE and also make you eligible for Junior Engineer whereas Diploma for Junior Engineer. This is  one of the best job option for Diploma Holders and not so for Degree holder, but OK if you are struggling to find suitable job in Government organisation.

Guidance for Preparation for SSE

There are large many vacancies Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineers of the order of 1700 spread all over RRB/Railways but major demand is over Northeast Frontier Railway for which the examination is being conducted by RRB/Guwahati. You may be finding difficulty in understanding the job profile of the designations mentioned in the advertisement, if so, click at Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics,  Metallurgical. Material Superintendent

The question paper will have 150 objective type questions covering the following area

  1. General Science and Technical Ability: 90 Marks
  2. General Awareness: 20 Marks
  3. Arithmetic: 20 Marks
  4. General Intelligence and Reasoning: 20 Marks

Now the course is very wide and you have to prepare in just three months. You will be looking for  some guide-book/joining a crash course but will it help. I suggest you the following

  1. Open your class XI and XII science books. Go through the content carefully making simple notes. This will take care of about 10 marks
  2. Open your Engineering notes (if you have prepared any) or otherwise a simple text-book which you have followed and also did marking while preparing and studying the content for the engineering examinations. This is a step to refresh yourself, and refreshing will be difficult if you follow different book. This will take care of  about 80 marks. You should be careful that there is one examination paper for all streams of engineering mentioned by the side of the category as per notification and one has to get himself fresh up in all branches. You  study some aspects of all branches of engineering in 1st and 2nd year of engineering, and it should help. If you have not studied all branches or having doubt, better make a group of friends of different streams and help each other.Screenshot - 23-09-2014 , 07_42_03
  3. Study material and objective type questions for mock drill on few subjects  has been compiled  to help you in preparing for the examination.
  4. Open your 6th to 8th class Mathematics book and go through chapter on Arithmetic, Algebra, trigonometry etc. and attempt minimum 6-8 questions ion each chapter. Event though it is mentioned arithmatic, but don’t be surprised to get questions of IX-XII class. Therefore, it is advised to glance through XI-XII mathematics for SSE and IX-X mathematics for JE. This will take care of 20 marks
  5. Collect last 10-12 issues of Competitive Success or similar magazine and read the content for General Awareness and General Intelligence and Reasoning. You have to train your mind to attend General Intelligence and reasoning questions. The questions are always simple if you can crack the  logical link. This will take care 40 marks.
  6. Plan at least 5 mock test during the period. Set the rules of the mock trial on lines similar to what you face during the real examination. You should tune yourself with the environment essential for the examination because at least you should not mark the answer wrong even when you know it. Screenshot - 20-09-2014 , 15_03_49

You should target about 120 marks in mock drill for sure shot success in regular examination. There is negative marking and for every wrong answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted. The questions where you know  at least the two answers which are not correct, it is better to attempt between the balance two answers  even if there is a negative marking.

thank you for such a creative & detailed effort.

    • Arun Kumar says:

Sir what will be the je cut off..I scored about 90..

      • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

90 out of what? and how you have arrived that you will get 90. I am not aware of the question paper because cut off will depend on two things namely 1) Standard of examination paper 2) Number of vacancies in respective RRB. For example, RRB/Guhati has more number of vacancies advertised, therefore, the cut off may be low as compared to other RRBs.

        • Arun Kumar says:

Ya its true sir…but is der ny chance to get through comparing previous years..90/150…obc category..rrb tvm

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

The number of posts advertised by rrb tvm are not many and therefore it will be a tough call. However, hope for the best.

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Arun, Roshini has asked for the uploading of question paper. Pl help her and upload the question paper which will be helpful to many others.

          • Arun Kumar says:

Sir but here competition is less and people writing the xam is also very few in number…hw will u get the previous selection details like cut off nd all of rbi…can v file RTI

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Ok, yes you can get the cut off through RTI, but each RRB will given their own position and not of all rrbs.

          • Arun Kumar says:

Sir tell me hw to upload question paper in this blog…I vill do

        • roshini says:

i didnt see the comments of the question paper level held on 14/12/2014 in any website.je i dont have any idea about the paper.i am blank i didnt prepared .whether to write this exam or not.you said earlier one person has quit the sse job and joined software whats the reason behind that.i am new to this exam i have same date another exam.whether i have to go for that or this.no website is uploading question paper or given idea.please reply me as soon as possible .i couldnt able to apply for je becoz it took only last to upload template.so it ask me to complete se registeration why they didnt take measures for this many of them coulsnt able to apply.it took 15 days for me to upload single template that to they given extended date only for template upload.nobody ask them for their mistake.i sent many mails to rrbmas no reply .and also not attending the phone calls .for tech queries and regional numbers.anyone who came across the same issue?

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I will upload the question paper as soon as I gets it. But you should not make your decision on the nature of question paper. The syllabus is so vast that it requires overall skill along with last month preparation. If yo say you are blank and has not prepared that you are only trying your luck. The gentleman about whom I have written was already working in software industry but did not like job profile of SSE which is a supervisory post of C group in Railways. You have said that there is another examination on the same day, I cannot comment on that as you have not mentioned which examination. I suggest you read the post on job profile of different department which I have written based on my knowledge, and that may benefit you whether it suits your candidature. I am unable to comment on your quarry in uploading the template and rrb not responding. They have not opened any ‘May I help you center’ because there were may quarries on my website from candidates even to understand the course they should prepare. Nevertheless, first make up your mind, prepare what ever possible withing next three four days and rest will be your luck.

          • roshini says:

still u didnt upload the question paper .i decided to write.

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I have not yet received the question paper of JE from the person who promised. However, I will suggest you that previous papers that too of JE will not help in MCQ examination. The syllabus is so vast that unless you go through the entire syllabus, it cannot be helped. I have prepared mock drills of MCQ in different subject covering most of the syllabus, and you can try there.

        • Arun Kumar says:

Sir plz send ur mob num…I will send the images of qp in whts app only if its convenient for u

      • roshini says:

please tell me whether u have applied for sse.and are u b.e graduate in which feild .can u please upload ur question paper .bcoz i was searching for 2 days for the question paper.and i have another doubt that question paper is same for all region?.i am ece from tamilnadu

      • roshini says:

  2. Rajat Thakur says:

Sir i want to know whether a B. Tech. degree holder can apply for JE post or only diploma holders can apply for JE?. … rest i know that B.Tech holders can apply for SSE post.
    Thank You

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Yes you can apply. Just read the advetisement carefully. The examination is also on different days for this purpose.

      • Rajat Thakur says:

But in the qualification column for JE posts diploma is mentioned only nothing is mention about degree there and i guess it could be for those who are both diploma and degre qualified …???

        • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Read carefully the note which says and/or separate application for sse and/or JE group. If sse eligibility does not satisfy JE group that and would not have appeared.
NOTE: – The candidates are advised to submit ONLINE application separately, one single
application for SSE group and/or another single application for JE group, if eligible, for the
post(s) of that RRB to which he/she wants to apply. Examination fee, if applicable, has
          to be paid separately.

          • mayank bansal says:

sir i have done btech in ece. sir i want to ask which branch i should fill bcoz electonics and communication is not mention..they have given different names like degree in electronics, a basic stream of sub stream of electronics..so sir which branch will be fiiled????sir reply soon……

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

When you start filling up the form and mention your branch of engineering and rrb, you will be prompted with the posts for which you eligible.

      • AKSHAYA R says:

sir, i have completed my B.E. ECE 2016 batch. In which departments will i be getting as a senior section engineer in if i crack the exam in the next notification? For ECE, can a post at workshops in tamilnadu be available? I am not clear on the work profole for an ECE graduate. being a girl, i think it will be better if i get a vacancy at ICF or elsewhere which is more convenient. Please share your thoughts on this doubt of departments available and place of working sir.

        • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

You have to wait for the notification and I dont think the next notification shall be before 2018. Yes you can give your first option to the posts of workshop and than it will depend on your merit. ECE is acceptable in many of the departments, if you look old notification which you can get on any of the RRB website.

    • prathyusha says:

Sir I am b-tech mechanical(4 years after inter)am I eligible for je or not
And Degree in mechanical engineering is equal to mechanical engineering(4 years) Plzzz give me a proper information

  3. bunty says:

Sir, I hav done b.tech can I apply for je and sse with same rrb

  4. Rajib says:

Hello Sir, I have done B tech in IT. Do I need to study the syllabus for other papers such as Electrical / Electronics etc for the post Sr.Section Engineer (Signal), where they have given “Four years Bachelor’s Degree in
    (a) Electrical / Electronics /
    Information Technology /
    Communication Engineering or
    M.Sc Electronics or (b) a
    combination of any sub stream
of basic streams of Electrical /
    Electronics / Information
    Technology / Communication
    Engineering from a recognized
University/ Institute.” as criteria. Please help.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

What you have mentioned is the minimum educational qualification required for giving choice but the indicate syllabus for all the SSE post is same as given in clause 8.04. It is Basic concepts of science (class XII standard); Civil; Mechanical; Electrical;Electronics; Computers; Environment and Pollution Control, Instrumentation and Measurement and Engineering Drawing / Graphics. You have to prepare to prove yourself a Engineer and not a branch specific. I posted a concise course on Environment and pollution control as this subject is not taught during engineering, and therefore, may be of help to you.

      • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

        If you look at the advertisement carefully, there is note which says;
NOTE: – The candidates are advised to submit ONLINE application separately, one single
application for SSE group and/or another single application for JE group, if eligible, for the
post(s) of that RRB to which he/she wants to apply. Examination fee, if applicable, has
        to be paid separately.
When there is ‘and’ between SSE and JE, it implies you should be eligible for both.

  5. himanshu jain says:

Hello sir main electronis se form gol kiya hai dono post ke liye.kya mujha baki sab subject bhi padhne padhnge ya sirf electronics ke subject hi padhu

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Himanshu, I have replied this quarry to many. I interpret from the advertisement that you have to study all the subject mentioned there, and in some of the answer you will find the reasons for my interpretation.

  6. Paritosh says:

    Dear Sir,

You have taken a great effort to write this blog. I would like to thank you for such work. I need to ask 2 things
    1. pls send me the link where you posted about concise course on Environment and pollution control
    2. Can you suggest a book for SSE technical

  7. sameer says:

    Dear Sir,

Thanks for your blog. It really helps a lot. I have one doubt, as you said now they will ask technical from all the engg branches given there. This starts from this year or it is from starting? Why I am asking this because I am going to purchase question bank of last years. If pattern changed then that will definitely not going to help. Please help me out.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I don’t have an idea about the previous years. But this year it is clear from the advertisement that it will cover the subject as mentioned thereon. You may check what was there in previous year advertisement from any of RRB website.

  8. I am instrumentation engg. and have applied for the same. What all topics and the subjects i have to concentrate to crack the s.s.e./j.e. exam?
Can you guide, how can i prepare to get more comfort to attempt civil, mechanical questions?

  9. Aftab says:

Is Diploma + B.Tech candidate (3+3 years) eligible for SSE post , please reply

  10. k v shiva says:

sir I have done btech cse..when i applied for je jobs shown to me are je(it), je(signal), je(telecommunications), and depotmaterial superintendent.. but the syllubus for je it and remaining are different.. Now the problem is which paper I have to face in the exam.

  11. Vikram Singh says:

Dear sir, I applied fr RRB JE/SSE 2014 exam.I read your posts and study some materials. You are doing the very good kind of work.

According to your guide my all doubts are clear but one is still exist…..

Kindly clear that in JE/SSE exam the questions of maths would be general like R.S Agarwal type or there would be questions from engineering mathematics.

Some previous year question papers of 2006,07,08 have Engg maths questions like Matrix,Calculus,Laplace etc.

    Kindly clear my point plz.

    Thnaks
    Vikram

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Vikram, the advertisement talks of Arithmetic and not Mathematics. Arithmatic is branch of mathematics dealing with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and all that matters with number. On the other hand mathematics concerns about all relations between numbers, quantity, shapes etc with development of mensuration, trigonometry, algebra, calculus, geometry and also Laplace transform, matrix, permutation and combination etc. But it depends how the paper setters reads and understand the syllabus for arithmetic. It will be better to concentrate on the maths portion you have been taught in class XII and if you have the time and understanding, there is nothing wrong in going through the engineering maths, because in any way you will be needing it for other competitive examination.
I am having a request to share the question papers of 2006,07 and 08 with me to understand the logic followed by the paper setter in the examination.

    • amit says:

hello vikram, can you share the snapshots of 2006, 07, 08 papers. my mail id is [email protected]
i will be grateful to you if you do me this favour.

    • Jankimchandra Jayswal says:

      Jankimchandra Jayswal
Hello to all R.R.B, Sr.S.E / J.E. aspirants and thanks to admin of the website / blog creating a valuable effort towards R.R.B. Sr.S.E / J.E. preparation guidance information includes details of nature of job of different categories, few study materials, examinations’ recent trends etc. in detail.I request other friends such as Vikram Singh and others to upload previous year questions papers from 2004 on wards or otherwise sent it personally to my email:[email protected] myself is a Graduate in Mechanical Engineering preparing for R.R.B. Sr.S.E as well as J.E. examinations 2015.

      Thanks & Regards

      Jankimchandra

      • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Mr. Jayswal: Why you are so desperate for the previous year question papers? It will not help because (1) RRB has not displayed the questions papers therefore there is always doubt about the authenticity. It is only from 2014 onward that directives were issued to upload the question paper with answer on the website. (2) The syllabus has undergone a change (3) The syllabus for multiple choice questions is so large, that previous year question paper will not help (4) The most important aspect is how attempt the questions, the answer of which you know. The best way to prepare is the go through what you have studied from class IX till 2nd year of engineering in all fields of engineering, science, arithmetic of Class VI to VIII and general awareness particularly what is happening all around during the last two-three years. This is my opinion and suggestion for preparation.

  12. Praveen says:

Sir please provide RRB JE IT study material

    • Vikram Singh says:

Dear sir,now one more thing I wants to clear. As you said IT and some other branches are specific and that’s why there syllabus is given separately in the advertisement, so plz tell me is it possible to take IT paper separately.

I mean there is any chance to take a separate paper for IT JE/SSE unlike other branches.

And another question is that are you get my reply, any idea about the Arithmetic section now.

      Thanks
      Vikram

      • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Last date for filling the application form is already over in Oct., how you can take change your selection? I am not clear what you want to ask about arithmetic section.

        • Vikram Singh says:

Sir, I know the same and I don’t want to change any preference.

I mean to say, there is two exams, one for JE on 14 Dec and another for SSE on 21 Dec.In the advertisement syllabus for all the posts category wise given in short, But the syllabus of IT (Cat no – 70),Cat No – 74, and Cat No – 77 is given separately.

So I just wants to ask that is there any possibility that the RRB can conduct a separate written test for IT and Cat no-74,77 on another date except 14th and 21st dec.

If no, so what is the reason to give the syllabus of Cat no – 70,74,77 separately. It is given on the page no 16 of the advertisement no CEN 02/2014.

Kindly refer the same and help me to understand accordingly.

          Thnaks
          Vikram

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I don’t think there is any other day for the examination. It may be obvious, that those opting for 70,74 and 77 are not eligible for other posts

          • Vikram Singh says:

            Thanks for reply sir.

But as I applied online and after entering educational qualification it showed all eligible categories which is Signal,Telecom,IT.

It means I am eligible for all branches it showed.Cat no 70 amoung them is for IT.

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I am sorry I will not be able to clarify your issue. You wait for your hall ticket whether it covers S&T as well as IT.

          • Vikram Singh says:

It’s ok sir, thanks for the help.

  13. amit says:

sir your notes on electrical were very helpful. Can you please upload notes for other streams also like mechanical, civil, electronics, etc.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I have made notes on electrical, environment and pollution control and the notes on instrumentation and measurement are associated with the answer of the multiple choice questions. Now I am working on the Science for class XII and X. I don’t think I will be able to work on civil and mechanical before the examination.

Helloo….can anyone mail me sse je
paper for electronics student..my mail address is [email protected] . Plz do send me papers i need it urgently…

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

You are asking paper for electronics student. what does this mean? You have to prepare for all the subjects as mentioned in the advertisement i.e. electrical, mechanical, civil, basic concept of science, environment and pollution control, measurement and instrumentation, basic drawings etc. for all the categories mentioned there. Therefore be careful about the course content.

  15. Dear Sir,
I want to know which books are good for Railway printing press vacancy for junior engineer post.

  16. RAVI KUMAR says:

inform some text and reference books for mechanical engineers

  17. Rajiv says:

Hello Sir, Is the Electrical and ECE material provided in the blog is enough for the preparation. Thanks.

  18. sanjay milan says:

    sir,
I want to know that how to prepare for “(Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant”.
I m from metallurgy branch..B.tech degree holder. There is no any previous year question paper for preperation.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

You have applied for sl. no. 34 and 35 and indicative syllabus is common for both the post. You should prepare for the indicative syllabus mentioned in the advertisement. You may check MCQ in general awareness, pollution and environment, electrical engineering, general science etc. at this web site.

  19. prathyusha says:

Sir I am b-tech mechanical(4 years after inter)am I eligible for je or not
And Degree in mechanical engineering is equal to mechanical engineering(4 years)

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

When you are B.E. Mechanical, why you have a doubt for your eligibility for JE or SSE? Please explain your doubt.

  20. vaibhav sharma says:

sir , i hve done my b tech in ece so for sse ill cover only electronics topics or all the streams topic like electrical civil machanical etc..

  21. ammu says:

sir i got two admit card JE and JE IT.. i belong o cse group… i would like to ask can i go for JE instead of JE IT… and plz tel me difference b/w questions level in both ….

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

You have got two admit cards because you have applied for two different category having separate examination. You may read the JE job profile on this web site and JE IT I have not written anything. If you qualify for JE IT, it is data processing center in each division and while collar job. The question level for JE will be same for all the categories mentioned there in and the indicative syllabus is also mentioned. Similarly JE/IT also, the indicative syllabus is mentioned.

  22. periyasamy says:

It is very useful information to all and everyone must follow it thank you these converstion

  24. Rajiv says:

Hello Sir, I couldn’t perform very well in the SSE exam. When will RRB conduct next SSE exams?

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

The posting orders for the examination held in 2012 has been issued very recently. It is a two years cycle for SSE/JE and may 18 months for ALP etc. I don’t you would like to wait for so long, better look for other options.

sir,in sse exam from rrb allahabad i an getting approx.97 marks . i am from unreserved category and from electronics branch is their any chance

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

You have not mentioned from how much much? In case it is from 150, it is a good chance and it must be sure if it is from 120. All the best

      • akshat says:

        sir, 97 out of 150

        • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

you are having a fair chance to get a call

          • mayank bansal says:

sir 2012 me rrb allahabad je ki signal ki minimum cutt off kitni gyi thi?????

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I am not aware of it. I suggest, if you are very interested and if it makes a difference to you, to ask through RTI from RRB/Allahabad

          • mayank bansal says:

Sir my branch is ece.i am getting 55/150 in je allahabad general category green set and 60/150 in sse ahmdabad green set.sir der is any chance in any of two?????

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

40% is not a good score to have a fair chance of selection. However, it always depends on how others have done it. Hope for the best.

          • mayank bansal says:

Sir is bar normalisation hoga Kya allahabad and ahmdabad me bcoz sir green set was toughest among all????

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I don’t think there will be any normalization. It would have been advised before hand. This procedure is adopted to have fair practice because of chance of leak of three papers is almost remote.

  26. GURU says:

Sir I got 97 in rrbchennai se exam. I am an OBC category person is there any chance of getting?

  27. Rajiv says:

Sir, I am getting 60 in SSE(Signal) paper out of 150. I am from SC category. Is there any chance.

  28. R.Akshaya says:

Will there be two papers to SSE? one being common containing questions from all engineering branches and the other from the main stream the applicant wishes to work on?
Am really confused y really i need to study other branch’s concepts..being a telecommunication person, is ter any need to knw mechanical engineering or computer science syllabus?

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

The last examination for the SSE/JE examination was held in Dec.2014. There was a common paper for SSE as well as JE for all the jobs requiring minimum educational qualification of Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical etc. Therefore, I you are interested to join Indian Railways as SSE/JE, you have to prepare for all the branches of Engineering, General Science, Mathematics and general awareness beside all branches of engineering. In profession, there is a need to know all branches of engineering, and that is reason you are taught all branches in first and second year of engineering. So you have to prepare about all branches of engineering to the extent taught in the first and second year of engineering. This was the trend so far, I don’t know if the system undergo changes for the next examination likely to be held in 2016. I hope this clears your doubt.

      • Sibhi Gunalan says:

Dear Manish, I had given the JE exam in Chennai region. I will score 75 marks. belong to SC category. What will be my chances of getting shortlisted. Also pl pl pl tell when the exam results for rrb Chennai will be announced. its almost 4 months since the exam completed.

        • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

75 is a good score and should get shortlisted. It is not possible for me to advise the date by which the result will be announced. It can be any date, yes i agree with your anxiety and curiousity. But better wait.

        • Sibhi Gunalan says:

Marks I mentioned is out of 150. sorry @ Mahesh Kr.Jain, I wrongly mentioned the name in the earlier comment.

          • Sibhi Gunalan says:

Dear Mahesh, Thanks a lot for a quick reply. No websites have given such a prompt response. Thank you so much…..

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

            You are welcome

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Yes, with 50% score, you are having a fair chance. Never mind writing wrong name. It is ok

      • Chander Prakash says:

        Dear Sir,

I belong to general category. I will get 75 + for sure in RRB JE Exam-Chennai region. This is not enough as I guess. Any chance for me. Can I hope a positive news.

        • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

It will be a tough call. Number of vacancy and choice given by you will play an important role. I understand that JE result will come after SSE, as large many will succeed in JE, and unless absorbed in SSE, will also come for claim for the post of JE and thus a loss of seat of other apirants. Always hope for the best and never mind even if not selected. Starts preparing for the next examination, whenever it is advertised.

          • Sibhi Gunalan says:

JE results will be declared after SSE? I thought JE will be first followed by SSE!! Also from other sources I came to know the results of Chennai RRB will be on last week of June. Is it true? or is it really required such a long time evaluate… I really don’t understand.

Can you comment on this @ Mahesh Jain

  29. Aurko says:

Sir there were three sets viz red, green & yellow in RRB JE & SSE exam. Now from RTIs & recent RRB Bhopal final result we know normalisation is done by RRB. Can you tell the method of normalisation or the formula used? Will there be any deduction or addition of marks from any set due to this & if any, then by how much? Kindly reply…

  30. armaan says:

Wen can we expect result of rrb allahabad?? And as all the rrb’s are shortlisting more no. Of candidates than advertised …does this imply number of posts have increased??

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

It is difficult to say when the results will appear but shall be shortly. The list of candidates is more than 30% of the advertisement vacancies to care of the candidates who do not turn up after being called or failed in medical.

JAIN SIR, FIRST OF ALL THANK YOU FOR YOUR VALUABLE CO-OPERATION TOWARDS THE JOB SEEKERS…

        I NEED YOUR HELP & PROPER GUIDENCE….
I AM A WAIT LISTED CANDIDATES, IN CMA, UNDER RRB KOLKATA…
        I BELONG TO #SC CATEGORY…
I RRB KOLKATA, 53 ARE IN THE MAIN LIST & 16 ARE IN THE WAITING LIST…

LIST ARE GIVEN ON THE BASIS OF ROLL NO. NOT BY MERIT…. SO, PLS GIVE MY ANSWER…

        1. HOW MUCH POSSIBLITY OF GETTING JOB???? ( ON DV, 27 APRIL, THERE ARE 2-3 PERSON ABSENT ONLY)

        2. IS THERE ANY POSSIBLITY OF INCREASING VACANCY NO.,??? THOUGH ANY CORREGDUM VACANCY DO NOT PUBLISH TILL NOW.

3.AS A SC CATEGORY CANDIDATES, HOW MUCH CHANCES ARE THERE TO COME TO THE MAIN LIST???

PLS, HELP ME & REMOVE ALL MY ANXITY, TENSION BY GIVING AUTHENTIC SUGGESTION…
        THANKS A LOT..

        • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

          1. Waiting list is 30% of the advertised vacancies.
          2. It is difficult to predict the possibility as it depends on large number of factors because there may be many who don’t join finally.
          3. There is no possibility of increasing vacancies and the rule does not permit. All new vacancies that arises after the last advertisement will have to be considered in the next examination.
          4. It depends on how many candidate turn down the offer, and of which how many belong to SC category. Very difficult to predict.
          5. Why you should have any tension? You cannot do any thing except haping the best for you. However, I know this much that no one will dare to benefit any other ineligible candidate and thus taking away your legitimate right.

          • Sibhi Gunalan says:

Dear Mahesh, since RRB Chennai released the SSE results first. From this when can we expect the results of JE . Will it take more time (like after the final results of SSE) ???

Pl give your prediction and advice us. Pl do the needful.

            Regards,Shibi

  33. Sibhi Gunalan says:

    Hi Mahesh

    Greetings!!

As you told before, the SSE results were announced first for RRB Chennai. Can you pl tell when the JE Results will be announced. How long it will take. Coz its almost one month completed after SSE results declared and the DV is also completed.

Can you give your view nd prediction on this.

After viewing all the comments and replys I trust your the right person to guide on this.

    Awaiting your reply.

    thanks, Shibi

    • Sibhi Gunalan says:

Hi magesh, Can you pl reply on my query…

      Need your sup and prediction

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

It may take around three months time after the publication of SSE result.

      • Sibhi Gunalan says:

3 Months ?? But, Mahesh its already half year over. If they take 3 months to announce the written exam results then it would probably go to 2016 for joining. Oh god are you sure it will take long time Mahesh ??? Feeling really frustrated.

        • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Yes certainly, it will go to 2016 by the time you get the offer for joining, if selected. Even in Group A service, it takes around 18 months from the time you appear int he examination and by the time one joins. So don’t get frustrated as you don’t have any other option. Instead continue you preparation for the next competitive examination in Railways or elsewhere.

          • Sibhi Gunalan says:

Hi Magesh, But when I enquired rrb Chennai by telecom, they told results will be announced by the end of this month or some time reply for others were like this. “It may come at any time”. That’s why am asking. And its very interesting to see the above reply.

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

It may go to 2016 by the time you get the joining letter. It may take three months between the result and preparation of panel. The panel will be sent to the Zonal Railways, character verification and issue of appoint letter will taken another three months.

  34. Sibhi Gunalan says:

@ MR. MAHESH JAIN…… Are you there in this forum!!!!!!!

    Pl do send a reply.

  35. harsha says:

Sir,whether girls can write sse exam in eee stream sir?do really girls are working as sse engineers.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Yes, why not. When next time vacancies are advertised, select the job with options where eee stream is the minimum qualification. The best option is telecom for girls. Many girls are working in Railways who have joined as SSE.

I have been selected as an additional candidate for JE post under RRB Chennai, Could you please let me know what is the chance of getting the job?

          • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I unable to understand this word additional candidate. Please share the exact language for me to comment.

  47. gaurav sharma says:

good morning mahesh sir, i have secure 70 questions(obc catagory) in rrb exam from rrn kolkata board, so is there any chance.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

I think it is less than 60%. You are having a fair chance depending on the vacancies in the category you have opted for. In fact in this range of scoring marks, there may be 100 of candidate on even one number, and than will make it difficult.

  48. Ajay says:

    Sir,
I want to join as SSE in IR. are there any chance for SSE vacancies in 2016?

  49. simran says:

Paper will be same for all branches how is it possible ???

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Why it is not possible? All previous examination were with this. Every engineering students learns of other branches during first two years of engineering and that is what is being given in the examination.

  50. Gaurav says:

Sir, please tell me the next rrb section engineer notification approximate month.
