respected sir, my age is 31 and belongs to UR category. i have applied for sse. sir my question is suppose if somebody selected for this post, can he apply for engineering service exam claiming age relaxation as an Indian railway department candidate ?

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

In my opinion, it should be possible to get the age relaxation indirectly this way. Go ahead and clear the SSE exam first.

I think you should forget about loco pilot job in view of the use of spectacles. Look for some other options there.

Respected sir, i am doing b.tech , my branch is eee & i’m in 4th year . i want to know whether rrb sse exam is conducted every year or in a gap of 2 years. what i need to study for the technical part? there are so many subjects whether i need to study every thing or there are some specific subjects which i need to prepare. Please suggest me some book for practice for the technical part & specify those subjects which i need to study .

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

There is no schedule for the examination. The next examination will not be before Oct.2017 and even go upto Oct. 2018. As per the syllabus followed in the previous examination, one has to study the subject matter of all branches of engineering and the best one is to revise what have you studied of all branches of engineering in your first two years of engineering. There is no standard books and for on line test, there will be 10-12 papers set, which will cover all aspects of engineering and your don’t know which question paper you get. Therefore, instead of looking for a particular book, revise what ever has been taught during first two years of engineering. Most importantly you should revise your Class IX-XII science books, because that will cover significant in the question paper. Also practice maths of class VI-X and with good command on multiplication table, percentage calculation on finger tips, etc. As regards general awareness which will be required for any other examination as well, keep yourself abreast with newspaper, listen to Doordarshan News (Never TRP inflicted news channel) Lok and Rajya Sabha TV channel. This is how you can keep yourself in readiness for the competitive examination not only of Railways but others as well.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

DRM is a two year tenure in the career of a Class I officer who joins Indian Railway through UPSC. You become DRM after having experience of about 28 years in different position.

  7. Respected sir,
Iam 34 years old and wants to qualify rrb group d exam. Guide me.

  8. dharmendra kumar says:

Sir I gave sse 2015 exam from Ahmedabad zone. And have already completed my dv. After that my name is also on the main merit list. But my friend who was with me in final list got a call from Vadodara zone for medical . But I have not received any call until now it’s already 20days. Sir called everyone Rrb Ahmedabad and also headquarter Mumbai. But they are not answering . Sir please tell me is there any problem. How long will it take and what should I do. Or I am disqualified. Sir I also have problem in one of my ear , it has a hole in eardrum. Will it lead to my failure in medical. And sir what will be starting salary of sse after 7th CPC. Sir please guide me I am really very nervous .

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Based on the vacancy of each Division, the HQ is advising the list of candidates to the respective Division. The Division will issue a medical memo. It may be possible that you might have been allotted to Ahmadabad Division and the delays is on account of administrative delay in the concerned Division. No one will you give any reply over telephone and therefore a futile exercise. You need not worry and wait patiently. As regards medical, you may go through the medical manual and check the issues involved there. Don’t bother for the salary, in any case, Railway is definitely a good paymaster now after the 7th Pay commission. It will be around 20% more than what earlier.

  9. dharmendra Kumar says:

Sir about how much time this will take. And what about the training will the one who had call earlier than me get training earlier.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Seniority is division wise and shall not be effected and i am doubtful that the authority will call junior person earlier.

  10. dharmendra kumar says:

Sir junior in what sense age ?? Sir I m also selected for ibps clerk post. Sir how much should I wait for medical.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Junior with reference to the merit list issued by RRB. I cannot comment how much time they take and you have to decide about the choice of ibps clerk post.

  12. Nitish says:

Sir have myopic eyes with power of -2.5 and -2.25D in two eyes.In medical test of SSE and JE would they consider me?

  13. nitish says:

Sir then should I prepare for rrb SSE?? please reply I am really depressed.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Don’t be depressed as it is not going to solve your problem. You check for many other options in Govt., PSUs for relaxed medical test. If you are not sure of qualifying the medical test of railways, than what is the fun in appearing but as far as preparation is concerned, it will still be helpful for other exams.

    • Mahesh Kumar Jain says:

Eye test by an expert is one of the important test and done with all precautions. Any mistake results very bad for the examining doctor. And if your doctor says say, then hope for the best.
